The victim's uncle, Joseph Costa, says he woke up to the sound of screams at the apartments on Briarwest in west Houston overnight. He ran to his niece's room, but the door was locked. Costa broke down the door and saw his niece's boyfriend.
"The person was hanging over my niece," he told us. "I noticed blood coming from the side of her body. As soon as I broke open the door he just ran out."
Paramedics pronounced her dead at the scene.
Costa gave police Moore's name and identified him as the killer. Moore is not in custody yet.
