Grice, Dagerman lead UIL girls 5A golf

AUSTIN Consolidated had a two-shot lead in the team standings over Southlake Carroll. Grice was the only player to break par. Mariah Montoya of Lubbock Coronado and Megan Rosenfeld of Plano West each shot 74.

Ryan Dagerman of Plano West shot a 2-under 70 for the lead in the Class 5A boys. Nicko Dodd of Houston Strake Jesuit and Cory Whitsett of Spring Branch Memorial were in second place, tied at 72. Plano West had the team lead at 292.

In Class 3A, Courtney Rutledge of Monahans and Addison Long of Andrews were tied for the girls' individual lead with a 1-over 72 and Andrews led Monahans in the team standings, 305 to 313. Chase Chapman of Waco Robinson led the boys with a 1-under 70. Drew McGee of Graham was second at par. Castro Medina Valley A had a one-stroke lead over Atlanta, Graham and Waco Robinson for the team title.
