Pilot makes emergency landing on road

LA PORTE, TX It went down about 5pm off Highway 146 near Fairmont. Investigators say a family rented the plane for sight-seeing around Galveston.

Shortly after takeoff, the pilot began to have engine trouble. The pilot tried to return to La Porte Municipal Airport, but was forced to make an emergency landing on the roadway.

No one was injured.
