Sumlin adds 6 to UH football staff

New Houston coach Kevin Sumlin on Friday added six assistants to his staff, including defensive coordinator John Skladany. Skladany comes to Houston after one season as defensive coordinator at University of Central Florida. He will also coach Houston's safeties.

Leon Burtnett, who coached Sumlin when he played at Purdue, will be linebackers coach. Joe Gilbert was named offensive line coach and Tony Levine the special teams coordinator and tight ends coach. Clarence McKinney, who has been coaching at Houston's Yates high school, will coach running backs. Zac Spavital will coach cornerbacks.
