Volunteers try to help homeless stay warm

For people living on the street, this morning's frigid temperatures may be a little easier to bear -- thanks to help from the Star of Hope. Yesterday volunteers loaded the Love in Action van with blankets, jackets, and bottled water to give to the homeless. First they invite them to come to a shelter, but some people choose to tough it out in the cold.

"I've been doing this for the past three years and I've known some of them to freeze out there in the weather and not have the proper clothes on. And we try to get them to come in," said Charles Williams with the Star of Hope.

The Star of Hope's men's and women's centers are at full capacity. But the mission has overflow space to accommodate anyone looking for shelter.
