Florida man charged with animal cruelty
Javier Orelly is accused of animal cruelty.

WEST PALM BEACH, FL (KTRK) -- A Florida man has been arrested on charges of animal cruelty.

After a week long investigation, police believe 28-year-old Javier Orelly decapitated his own dog. An anonymous caller told police that Orelly was kicking his dog and throwing it around his apartment.

The caller also told police that Orelly might be planning to kill the dog because of a shrine built in the front of his building.

When authorities arrived, they found a gruesome scene.

According to police, they found Orelly digging and a headless black dog in the grave. The dog's head was found on top of two rocks.

He told police that he was stressed-out and did it to "cleanse himself."

Police believe he also sacrificed a duck.

He faces two counts of animal cruelty and a possession of marijuana charge.
