Amber Alert discontinued for 5-week-old in East Texas, baby still considered missing

WELLS, Texas (KTRK) -- A 5-week-old boy is still missing more than two weeks after authorities issued an Amber Alert for the baby.

Armaidre Antwan Marquie Argumon was last seen in Wells, Texas on Sept. 18, according to an Amber Alert issued for the child.

The last time the baby was seen was with his father at a family home, according to KTRE-TV.

Authorities in Cherokee County have said the child's father is not cooperating with investigators.

"If the father did do something with the baby to harm the baby or to hide the baby and it is deceased, he's placed it on some property somewhere in our community," Cherokee County Sheriff Brent Dickson told KTRE. "And I ask that the community stays vigilant while they're out and about looking around."

Teams from Houston traveled to the area this week to help look for the child.
