HOUSTON (KTRK) -- If you ever spot an alligator when you're out, please don't do this.
The alligator, which has been spotted the past few days in the bayou along Monroe near Almeda Genoa, drew a crowd of people trying to capture it.
In a video sent to Eyewitness News, you can see the alligator squirm away and return to the water.
Officials with Texas Parks and Wildlife say the alligator is in its natural environment and people should leave it alone. The man who tried to catch the gator could face a citation.
