HOUSTON (KTRK) -- The woman who found abortion records in a north Houston warehouse is now being rewarded by the law firm that removed them.
Boxes of files including ultrasounds, patient information, and medical details of the abortions.
After our story aired, attorneys for the defunct practice the files belonged to contacted the owner of the warehouse. Yesterday an attorney arrived to begin collecting those records.
Today, before removing the last of those files, the law firm of Noah Meek issued a reward to the warehouse owner Esmeralda Cedillo. The firm says the reward was for keeping those files confidential.
Cedillo believes an estranged relative who was an employee of an abortion clinic stored the records in that warehouse.
The records will now either be returned to the patients or destroyed.
