Houston police investigating shooting and attempted robbery involving armored truck on Westheimer

HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) -- Houston police are investigating a shooting and attempted robbery involving an armored truck on Westheimer Road. The call came in at about 11:45 a.m. Thursday.

According to the Houston Police Department, the shooting happened in the 8100 block of Westheimer.

HPD said one person was shot, but it's not clear if it was a suspect or an employee with the armored truck.

An officer at the scene told ABC13 that two suspects pepper-sprayed the armored truck worker before shots were fired.

HPD initially said at least four suspects and a black SUV were involved. One of the suspects has reportedly been caught, and the other took off.

The police investigation is ongoing.
