First look at former Cy-Fair ISD teacher accused in student sex case
HOUSTON (KTRK) -- Nicole Jakubiak, 36, covered her head with a cloth as she left the courtroom today, not wanting our cameras to see her face. But couldn't hide her face in her recently released mug shot.
Cy-Fair ISD teacher accused of sex with student
The former Cy-Fair ISD teacher is accused of having a sexual relationship with a foreign exchange student who was living with Jakubiak and her husband last year.
The boy is 18 and Jakubiak reportedly told her friends she was having an affair with the student.
Jakubiak is charged with improper teacher student relationship.
Court documents allege she and the boy carried on the relationship from March through May of last school year.
Jakubiak allegedly told her fellow teachers she was having sex with the boy in her home.
Jakubiak told investigators she thought she did nothing wrong because the boy was 18 and could make his own choices.
Under the law it does not matter if the student is under 18, or even if the student is not in the teacher's classroom, as was this case.
If convicted, Jakubiak could face 20 years behind bars.
