It happened just before 10 p.m. Friday night at a smoke shop on Westheimer near Briarwest Boulevard.

The gunman entered the shop and began arguing with employees inside before opening fire, according to police.

The boyfriend of one of the employees was hit several times. He was taken to a hospital, but his condition wasn't immediately known.

The shooter, a Black man in his late 20s, took off from the store, but it wasn't clear what kind of vehicle he fled in.
