The Houston Texans have signed free-agent safety Rahim Moore, the team announced.

The three-year deal is worth $12 million,a source told ESPN NFL Insider Adam Schefter.

Moore, 25, has started at least seven games in each of his four years for the Denver Broncos, but he will always be remembered as the defensive back closest to Jacoby Jones on a game-tying play in what became a crushing double-overtime loss to the Baltimore Ravens to close out the Broncos' 2012 season.

Although cornerback Tony Carter failed to jam Jones at the line of scrimmage and then didn't follow Jones up the sideline, Moore bore the brunt of the blame on the play.

However, Moore bounced back to start 10 games in 2013 before a leg injury ended his season -- he suffered acute lateral compartment syndrome in his lower leg, a circulatory issue that could have resulted in his leg being amputated had he not gone to the hospital in time -- and he started 16 games this past season.

Moore, who was a second-round pick in the 2011 draft -- Elway's first draft as the team's chief football decision-maker -- tied for the team lead in '14 with four interceptions.

Moore largely played free safety for the Broncos and was one of two players -- safety T.J. Ward was the other -- to have played at least 1,000 snaps for the Broncos' defense this past season. Moore led the team with 1,054.
