HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) -- A driver going over 100 mph on Westpark Drive is dead after crashing into a pole on Sunday morning, police said.

According to the Houston Police Department, a person called police to report the crash in the 10000 block of Westpark Drive, near Wilcrest, just before 7 a.m. Police said the caller was unable to get the driver out of the vehicle.

The driver was pronounced dead, officers said.

No one else was reported injured.

The road had reopened by 9:30 a.m. An ABC13 crew noticed standing water in the area and workers on the scene. We are asking city officials if the crash caused a water main break.
