School bus involved in horrible wreck in NW Harris County

Two people were injured in a horrific wreck in northwest Harris County Wednesday afternoon.

It happened near Clay Road and Greenhouse. Authorities say the driver of an SUV was traveling at a high rate of speed when it rear-ended a school bus carrying 17 students.

Officials say there were no fatalities on scene. However, the driver of the car and a student on the bus were injured and transported to a hospital.

Late Wednesday, Cy-Fair ISD issued the following statement:

"We are so thankful for the actions of our staff that were in the area today when the bus accident occurred. They were able to quickly assist the bus driver, students and transportation department by checking on students and notifying parents. Our thoughts and prayers are with all those involved."

No other details were immediately available.
