NFL player to take autistic Anahuac teen to prom

ANAHUAC, TX

Taylor Kirkwood, 18, of Anahuac High School will be taking Seattle Seahawks running back and former Texas A&M player Christine Michael to prom, ABC affiliate KING 5 reports.

The 18-year-old is not only autistic, but has suffered from scoliosis until a recent surgery. She maintains a positive outlook, and was even named Anahuac High School's Homecoming Queen.

Her mother, Stacie Holmes, wanted to do something special for her daughter. It just so happens that Holmes' cousin went to Beaumont's West Brook High School with the Super Bowl champion. They called in a favor to the star.

"I was just like we'll see what happens," her mother Stacie Holmes said to KING 5. "I know he's busy and I wasn't sure if he could."

Michael said yes, and Taylor is already planning their big night.
