Mom, boyfriend charged in two-year-old boy's 2012 death

HOUSTON

The new details from autopsy results in this case are so graphic we can't describe most of them publicly.

Steven Drouillard, 2, had more than 200 bruises and cuts all over his body when he was found dead at this apartment complex in 2012.

On Thursday morning, a SWAT team arrested his mother, Christina Chadwick, and her boyfriend, Chad Wisnieski, at their League City residence. Both are charged with murder.

It took nearly a year and half to make an arrest in this case. According to court records, Wisnieski told police in 2012 the boy's sister hit the toddler in the head with a piece of plastic. Wisnieski said the boy took a nap on the couch next him and didn't wake up.

Court records state Wisnieski took the boy outside and tried to get a neighbor to call 911. But there was nothing anyone could do.

Neighbors say they're still haunted by the death.

"My sister started crying because, she said she could have probably saved him, you know, if she would have called anybody. She just didn't want to get involved," said a former neighbor, who identified herself only as Nancy.

Court records state Wisnieski told police he did play rough with the boy.

Chadwick was not home but said she noticed the bruises on her son while giving him a bath the night before he died.
