A local woman thinks that jewelry found in a California flea market is tied to a longtime family mystery.

Martha Anne Pierson saw a story about a locket that was reported by our KGO-TV, our sister station in San Francisco.

Christina Rome found the locket at flea market and saw photos inside. She came forward hoping to find the story behind the locket.

Pierson says the photos are of her mother and an uncle who disappeared decades ago in Northern California while looking for gold and silver.

"And she often told us that if he were ever found, that she was pretty certain he would have a locket of picture of her with him," Pierson said.

Pierson is working with Rome to determine if the locket belonged to Pierson's uncle. She and her family are gathering family photos they hope will prove the locket belongs with them.
