Drug dog finds 600 pounds of pot in pickup truck during traffic stop

HOUSTON

At about 3:45pm Tuesday, a deputy in the Montgomery County Sheriff's Office Special Investigations Unit pulled over a pickup truck on I-45 near Lake Woodlands Drive. During the traffic stop, a drug dog was sent to check out the vehicle, which resulted with a positive alert.

A search of the vehicle was conducted and approximately 600 pounds of marijuana was located in the bed of the pickup. The street value of the marijuana was estimated at $360,000.

Joel Blanco, 31, of Houston, was arrested and charged with possession of marijuana, a second degree felony.
