Amtrak suspends Philadelphia to Harrisburg service

PHILADELPHIA - February 5, 2014

Officials say at least 45 downed trees in multiple locations and other weather related issues have caused problems with their overhead electrical system. Amtrak said crews have been called in to clear the debris and make any needed repairs.

At this time there is no estimate for when the tracks will re-open, Amtrak said.

Passengers with travel plans can confirm their train's status, change their plans or review refund information by using Amtrak.com, Amtrak's smartphone apps or by calling 800-USA-RAIL.

Officials say service alerts, passenger notices and other announcements will be posted at Amtrak.com/alerts.
