Harris County Sheriff's Office deputies say a child's shooting Saturday was accidental.

It happened in the 8300 block of Maria Edna near Airline between Gulf Bank and Little York.

We're told two children -- ages nine and seven -- were playing with a pellet gun when the gun accidentally fired, hitting the seven-year-old.

The child was taken to an area hospital with the skin on his chest penetrated, officials said. He underwent surgery and was stable at last check.

No additional details were immediately released.
