Houston hotel home to 1,000-pound chocolate Santa Claus

HOUSTON

Award-winning Pastry Chef Mahesh Weerasinghe created a 1,000-pound chocolate Santa at the Hilton Americas in downtown Houston.

The edible sculpture shows Santa in his chair, accompanied by his elves and a wagon full of toys. It is made entirely of dark chocolate and chocolate dough. Its weight is equivalent to 95,000 chocolate kisses and has about 2,432,000 calories.

According to the hotel, it took 400 man hours and two months to create the chocolate delight.
