Authorities tell us the rape occurred December 3 in the 2000 block of Elmen street near Montrose. The victim told police she was walking her dog around 4pm when an African American male grabbed her from behind and forced her to an abandoned building where the assault occurred.
The victim describes her attacker to be around 35 years old and about 5 feet 8 inches tall.
Neighbors in the Vermont Commons subdivision tell us theirs is a very dog friendly neighborhood where most residents walk their dogs at all hours.
