Shelter-in-place for Katy ISD school due to suspect search

Students and staff at a Katy ISD school are being sheltered-in-place because of an armed suspect in the area, according to the district.

The shelter-in-place is in effect for students and staff at Williams Elementary School near the intersection of Fry and Westheimer Parkway. According to a notice that went out to parents, all doors have been secured and an officer placed at the entrance of the school.

According to the Ft. Bend County Sheriff's Office, a call came in at around 1pm about a burglary of a home near Westheimer Parkway and Highway 99. Deputies arrived and caught two suspects, but say a third remains on the run.

A nearby neighborhood is being blocked off right now.
