A man is in critical condition and possibly facing charges after officers reportedly had to deploy their Tasers on him multiple times in southeast Houston early this morning.

It happened around 1:30am in the 9300 block of Kings Flower Circle. Police were responding to a call of a suspicious person.

When they got there, they say they discovered a man standing more than 6 feet tall and weighing around 300 pounds in the middle of the street shouting obscenities.

They say he became combative when they approached and even started to strike them. That's when the officers used their Tasers.

Police say the man was actually removing the darts from his body, so the officers had to deploy them again.

The man was eventually taken into custody. While paramedics were treating him, they say he started to have seizures. He was transported to Memorial Hermann Southeast Hospital and at last check was in critical condition.

Police say the man's family told them he had ingested illegal drugs.

He now faces possible charges of assault on peace officer.
