The victim was Reyna "Yuki" Rogers -- a well-known activist in the Asian community in Houston.
She was shot and killed in January of last year in the southwest Houston townhome she shared with her son, James Rogers.
Rogers is an Iraq war veteran who relatives say experienced post traumatic stress disorder. He will be committed to Rusk State Hospital for treatment.
