Galveston Co. judge facing additional charges

GALVESTON, TX

Galveston County Court-at-Law Judge Christopher Dupuy surrendered Wednesday at the Galveston County jail and was released on a $1,000 bond. Authorities say the latest charges are for false statements Dupuy allegedly made during a court hearing.

A grand jury indicted Dupuy in May on charges that included two counts of official oppression. He was later suspended from office.

He has denied the charges, arguing that local attorneys and the Texas attorney general's office are conspiring to remove him from office.
