ABC looking to recognize children, teens focused on improving community

HOUSTON

ABC and Youth Service America are looking for candidates for their ABC Summer of Service Award. The award recognizes people ages 5-18 for their volunteering and community service efforts and hopes to inspire kids and their families to make a lasting, positive change by helping people, communities, and the planet.

"We're especially interested in ongoing, youth-led projects that highlight the creativity and commitment of young people working to meet the needs of others," ABC wrote in a statement.

Winners receive a $1,000 award to help make a lasting, positive change in the world.

Interested youth must apply by midnight on September 1 on www.YSA.org/ABC.
