San Bernardino kidnapping, torture investigation nets 2 arrests

SAN BERNARDINO, Calif.

San Bernardino police responded to a suspicious circumstance call at an apartment on the 4300 block of Sepulveda Avenue around 11:45 a.m. Tuesday. When they arrived, officers found a 37-year-old man bound and gagged in the restroom with several visible injuries.

Police say the caller, identified as 42-year-old Emeshia Montgomery, told them the man had been caught breaking into the apartment and that her boyfriend tied him up. Detectives say they determined that was a lie, and that Montgomery's boyfriend, 31-year-old William Jason Jones, lured the victim to the apartment and tortured him over the course of several hours.

Jones was located and arrested several hours later. He was booked into the San Bernardino County Sheriff's Central Detention Center on charges of kidnapping and assault with a deadly weapon. Montgomery was arrested and booked on accessory charges.

Anyone with information regarding this investigation was asked to contact Detective Dennis Houser at (909) 384-5615 or Sgt. Travis Walker at (909) 648-5784.
