Volunteers place flags at Houston National Cemetery

HOUSTON

This year is the first time the individual flags have been posted since 1999. More than 80,000 veterans are buried at the Houston National Cemetery, including four Medal of Honor recipients.

Later this afternoon, members of the community are invited to join local Boy and Girl Scout troops to help put up the Avenue of Flags.

Tomorrow morning the Department of Veterans Affairs will be hosting a special Memorial Day service at the cemetery.
