Residents at a Pasadena apartment complex were told to stay in their homes overnight as police searched for robbery suspects.

The suspects are accused of stealing wallets and cell phones from teenagers at gunpoint in a Kroger parking lot.

Officers found a vehicle matching the suspects' getaway car at the nearby Vista Del Sol Apartments on Preston.

Police learned which unit the suspects were in and surrounded it. One suspect surrendered, officials said, but the other refused to leave the unit.

After several hours, police and SWAT team members used a battering ram, knocking down the front door and smashing through the windows. The final suspect was arrested.

Police also arrested five other people inside the apartment, all with outstanding warrants not linked to the robbery.

Some children were inside the unit with the suspect, but they were not hurt, police said.
