Police say the victim got into an argument with three other men at the Empire Village apartments on Burke and Jenkins.
A fight broke out and that's when the men stabbed and shot the victim, who managed to run to a nearby gas station and get help.
The victim is at Ben Taub Hospital in serious condition. Police are questioning several people about the attack.
