Boy, 11, violently mugged for cell phone

HOUSTON

On January 22, an 11-year-old boy was in a parking lot near the 13600 block of Richmond. He was approached by a male and a female suspect. The male asked the young victim if he could borrow his cell phone. The boy explained that the phone didn't work and began to walk away. As he did, the male suspect hit him on the head, knocking him to the ground. The female suspect then jumped on the victim, and pistol-whipped him. The male suspect took the victim's cell phone, and both fled the scene on foot.

Surveillance cameras inside a nearby convenience store captured still photos of the male suspect in the case.

The first suspect is described as a black male, between the age of 16 and 19 years, standing between 5'6" and 5'9" tall and weighing approximately 140 to 160 pounds. At the time of the offense the suspect was wearing a black t-shirt with a white pattern, and black shorts.

The second suspect was only described by witnesses as a black female. No further description of the female suspect is available.

Anyone with information about the identity of the suspects is asked to contact Crime Stoppers of Houston at 713-222-TIPS (8477).
