An attempted car burglary outside a shooting range in Spring Saturday evening ended with the stabbing of one suspect and the arrest of three others.

It happened at Carter's Country Shooting Range in the 6200 block of Treaschwig Road.

Harris County Pct. 4 deputy constables say a patron who was leaving the range stumbled upon a suspect breaking into his van. The two began fighting and a good Samaritan jumped in, stabbing the suspect with a pocket knife.

In response, the suspect's friend went on the attack and pistol whipped the good Samaritan. He was struck in the head but wasn't injured enough to be transported to a hospital.

The car burglary suspect, however, was transported to an area hospital with a stab wound to the upper torso. We're told he is in serious condition.

That suspect has been identified as a 21-year-old man and has been charged with burglary to a motor vehicle.

His 21-year-old girlfriend, who was acting as a lookout during the attempted break-in, also was charged with burglary to a motor vehicle.

The man who attacked the good Samaritan is also 21 years old. He's been charged with felony aggravated assault.

A fourth suspect, a 20-year-old man, was in possession of two hand guns and was charged with unlawfully carrying a weapon.

are still sorting out what led up the stabbings.
