Beaumont cemetery gets state help against hogs

BEAUMONT, TX

The Beaumont Enterprise reported Sunday that Forest Lawn Memorial Park sought help in dealing with wild hogs.

Spokeswoman Jessica McDunn says the cemetery has received assistance from Texas Wildlife Services, which is helping trap the animals. Dunn says additional fences have also been built to keep the feral hogs at bay.

City spokeswoman Danielle Underferth says wild hogs last month target the greens at Beaumont's Tyrrell Park golf course -- rutting up the grass. She says the hogs moved on after the city put out traps.
