Police say a Cadillac was speeding in the eastbound lanes near Kress when it clipped an SUV. The drivers of both vehicles lost control.
The SUV flipped and rolled, ejecting a passenger. That male passenger died at the scene. The female driver was taken to the hospital.
The driver of the Cadillac left the scene but later returned and was taken into custody. Police believe both drivers may have been drinking.
