Oysters are famous for being an aphrodisiac. But adding cheese and bacon can make them more potent because they're also aphrodisiacs.
Dr. Dolores Lamb who aptly heads Baylor's Center for Reproductive Medicine showed us more than 100 aphrodisiac foods.
"Things like peppers give endorphin secretions, which are associated with a good feeling," she said.
So Dr. Lamb's researchers, staff and trainees paused their work to create a food with the most lust potential. They marinated vegetables in garlic, cilantro, ginger and peppers -- all said to be aphrodisiacs and put cinnamon on fruit.
"Cinnamon is also an aphrodisiac ingredient," assistant professor Carolina Jorgez said.
A rice cake became a love potent by adding mushrooms, olive oil, and Chinese sausage.
Dr. Lamb's chili was loaded with aphrodisiacs like beans, tomatoes, onions, garlic, chili peppers, cheese and avocados.
Even her salad made us swoon with all the vasodilators in it like: raspberries, strawberries, blackberries, blueberries, and so many more.
"I know first hand that it works," Dr. Lamb said.
More people headed for his shrimp dish. We know chocolate improves mood, but did you know the cheese, egg and vanilla in a flan could increase your lust?
Cupid would have swooned at the mood-altering substances here. But what's it like to eat all these aphrodisiacs at the same time?
"We've had no unwanted side effect reported," Dr. Lamb said.
As with any scientific project, results are important, so when we asked the results of these aphrodisiac lunches we were told more research is needed.
