A judge in San Antonio on Tuesday sentenced 54-year-old Michelle Lorenz Valicek, who pleaded no contest to misapplication of fiduciary property. She was administrator of the estate of 97-year-old Margaret Lorenz, who died last year.
Prosecutors say about $500,000 remains unaccounted for from the $2.3 million fortune left to the elderly woman's son, who is Valicek's father. He sought probation for his daughter.
Valicek had faced 16 felony counts of misapplication of fiduciary property and theft prior to her plea agreement. Prosecutors say she wrongly spent the money on extravagant items for herself such as new home and a luxury car.
