Students stranded during Sandy back in Houston

HOUSTON

A group of about 30 students, teachers and chaperones from Grady Middle School landed at Bush Intercontinental Airport last night. They were on a trip to Boston and were supposed to return home Sunday, but their flight was canceled.

They said they avoided the brunt of the storm, but they did feel some effects.

"My roommate washed our clothes in the bathtub with soap, and then he dried them with a blow dryer," said stranded student Will Singhoff. "So that was pretty funny, but it worked."

"They took really good care of us and they made us have fun and just kept us busy," added student Kendall Lilly.

The kids say they passed the time by making home videos, holding a talent show -- and yes -- doing homework.
