City council to vote on plan to buy land for cultural center

HOUSTON

According to the Houston Chronicle, the land costs $1.8 million and is across from Minute Maid Park downtown.

If the plan is approved, officials will begin a fundraising campaign to build the Center for Texas Cultural Heritage.

The center would give visitors an interactive introduction to southeast Texas landmarks, like the San Jacinto Monument, Spindletop and the George Bush Presidential Library.
