A man convicted in a wrong way crash that killed a mother and injured her daughter will spend 16 years behind bars.

The crash happened in January 2011 on FM 494 at Ferris Green in New Caney. Investigators say 37-year-old Clayton Sievertson was drunk when he hit Alicia Sanchez and Daisy Silvestre in a head-on collision. The mother and daughter were en route to work when the crash happened.

A good Samaritan, who had actually been out drinking with Sieverston, found the victims and called for help.

Alicia Sanchez, 43, died at the scene. Her 20-year-old daughter Daisy was critically injured.
