Mayor throws 1st pitch at anniversary softball game

The Houston Women's Softball League celebrated its 30th anniversary this weekend with a famous former member.

Houston Mayor Annise Parker threw the first pitch of Sunday's game at Memorial Park.

She autographed baseballs and posed for photos with the players.

Parker encourages women to play sports. She said grew up playing softball and was a former president of the Houston Women's Softball League.

She said her pitch was a little high on Sunday, but it did make it over the plate.
