A woman who says she was the prostitute who triggered the U.S. Secret Service scandal says she fled Colombia for fear of reprisal.

The woman identified as "Dania" says that the Secret Service agent whose refusal to pay for sex set off the scandal never identified himself as part of President Barack Obama's security detail.

Dania says she never would have alerted police to the agent's refusal to pay had she known it would cause such a scandal.

Dania appeared in an interview Friday with Colombia's Radio W and Caracol TV from a location the broadcasters asked The Associated Press not to disclose. The woman who appeared in the studio appeared to be the same identified by neighbors in Cartagena, Colombia, in a photo that was taken from Facebook.
