Police want to find the carjackers who nearly shot a man in front of his 3-year-old son last night.

Police say five suspects carjacked a father at gunpoint at an apartment complex on Town Park near Gessner.

Manuel Martinez was changing a flat tire outside his apartment in southwest Houston when he says five men pointed a gun at him and demanded cash and the keys to his vehicle. He tried to explain his son was in the car and that's when the suspects shot at him twice. He wasn't hit and managed to get his child before the men escaped in his car.

His cell phone was inside the car and he called, demanding the suspects return his vehicle. They agreed and told him to pick up the car near some apartments. Martinez arrived with his relatives.

"We went and got the car and then we saw him jump into another car and so we went after him and called the police again," said Martinez's niece, Daisy Medina.

Police arrested two of the five suspects. The other three remain on the loose.
