Houston police have arrested a man they say fatally shot a man after visiting his apartment.

Rodney Wayne Allen, 21, was taken into custody on Wednesday. Allen is charged with murder in the 262nd State District Court in the killing of Jonathan Diles, 38.

Police were called to investigate a shooting at the Villa Anita apartments in the 5700 block of Guhn Road and discovered Diles on a sidewalk in the apartment complex.

Witnesses told police there was an altercation between Diles and Allen. Allen was reportedly a guest at Diles' apartment when he got into an altercation with a woman also visiting Diles. As Diles attempted to break up the argument, witnesses say Allen began damaging the apartment. When Diles asked Allen to leave the apartment, Allen allegedly pulled a gun and shot him. Allen then fled the scene.

Police tracked down Allen and he was arrested by the Gulf Coast Violent Offenders Task Force at an apartment in the 9700 block of Meadowglen.
