Police: Two Michigan kids used toy gun to steal snacks

WARREN, MI

The Macomb Daily in Mount Clemens reports Friday that the five victims were walking home earlier this week from Lincoln Elementary in Warren, north of Detroit, when one of the boys pulled the plastic gun on them.

Warren Detective Lt. Dan Beck said one of the boys placed the gun to the head of one student Tuesday and demanded: "Where's the money?"

Candy and potato chips were taken from the victims' backpacks. No one was hurt.

Van Dyke Schools Superintendent Joe Pius told The Detroit News that both boys have been given 10-day expulsions.
