Run-off elections being held on Saturday

Tomorrow, four Houston City Council races will finally be decided and, like the original election in November, voter turnout for the runoff election is expected to be dismal.

District A incumbent Brenda Stardig is fighting to keep her seat against challenger, Civic Club President Helena Brown.

In District B, an eight-person race has been whittled down to two to replace term-limited Councilman Jarvis Johnson. Johnson's aide, Alvin Byrd, will face non-profit director Jerry Davis.

The 10-person race for at-large position 2 seat is down to Pastor Andrew Burks and former State Representative Kristi Thibaut.

For the second time, at-large 5 incumbent Jolanda Jones finds herself in a runoff for the same seat with the same person she faced two years ago, west side chiropractor Jack Christie.

Polls are open Saturday from 7am until 7pm.
