A man was shot and killed after several suspects forced their way into his home in northwest Harris County late last night.

It happened around 11:30pm at the home on Dermott near Glenora. Investigators say Trieu Quoc Nguyen, 33, was shot several times after someone kicked in the door of the home. Deputies say the his brother and two young children were also home at the time, but luckily they were not hurt.

"The brother heard a commotion going on and by the time he made it to the front of the residence, he found his brother deceased," said Sgt. Greg Pinkins with the Harris County Sheriff's Office.

Authorities are still investigating a motive behind the home invasion. So far, they have no description of the suspects or exactly how many people broke into the home.

Deputies did confirm that nothing was stolen from the house.
