At least two northbound lanes of the North Freeway were closed due to the high water at North Main. There were several accidents around town due to the slick roads.
The storms were also responsible for several downed power lines all across town. Lines at Kirkwood and Bissonnet shut down the southwest side intersection.
The lightning and storms knocked out power to at least 22,000 homes and businesses.
