AGE: 68

POLITICAL EXPERIENCE: He served as the 58th Speaker of the United States House of Representatives from 1995 to 1999. He represented Georgia's 6th congressional district as a Republican member from 1979 to 1999.

EDUCATION: He received a B.A. in history from Emory University in Atlanta in 1965. He received an M.A. in 1968, and then a PhD in modern European history from Tulane University in New Orleans in 1971.

FAMILY: Callista Gingrich (wife); Children: Two daughters with Jackie Battley (first wife)
